Mark Sleeper was born in 1952 in Minnesota. He belonged to a middle-class family. His father worked as a highway engineer while mother was a home maker.
Though there were plenty of reasons for Mark Sleeper to become a well-loved figure, the true inspiration for him was always his family. Moreover, his parents kept on motivating him and guiding him throughout his childhood towards the right path.
Since Mark was keen of learning and always wanted to share whatever he learned and he completed both, Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education.
He was amongst the students of the college who participated in sports. He played college golf for 4 years and landed a job in New Prague Middle School and taught special education.
Soon after pursuing the Master Degree, Mark landed a job in the New Prague School District. He worked there for 2 years and taught at-risk students. He was one of the favorite teachers of the students as he had a very patient personality.
He was never like other teachers; he was very friendly and used to maintain a cool environment in the class. Unlike common teaching methodologies, he followed a unique style where he explained how the curriculum was relevant.
These years were valuable for Mark as he got a lot of experience and learned to adapt to different student needs.
Turning Point in Career
Since destiny had more interesting in store for Mark, he was soon appointed as High School Principal in Morristown Public School in 1980. Besides talent, the out-of-the-box thoughts that Mark had about education, also helped him grab this great position in the school. As a principal he managed day to day operations of the school quite well.
After 2 years of service; i.e. in 1982, he moved to Dodge Center Public School and served as the Principal for the next 3 years. From formulating rules and regulations to maintaining discipline, he did everything to make sure that children at his school get the best education in the area. He won a lot of accolades for his responsibilities in Dodge.
In 1985, he joined the Fergus Falls School District and served as principal and assistant principal for 16 years. He was caring educator who was well-versed with the knowledge to ensure bright future of the children.
After serving as principal for more than 4 years, he was appointed as superintendent in the Princeton School District. He always created a pleasant atmosphere for the children and teachers to work in.
